Giving That Reflects Your Values
Many of our clients support their temple, church, school or community organization. Charitable planning helps you give in a way that does more good and can also benefit your family and your taxes.
Simple Ways to Give
You can name a charity in your will or trust, or as a beneficiary of a retirement account. Retirement accounts are often the most tax-efficient asset to leave to charity, because the charity does not pay income tax on what it receives, while your children would.
Giving From an IRA After Age 70½
A qualified charitable distribution lets you give directly from your IRA to a charity. The gift is not counted as taxable income to you, and it can count toward required minimum distributions.
Charitable Trusts and Donor-Advised Funds
A charitable remainder trust can pay you an income for life and leave the remainder to charity, which can be especially useful for highly appreciated property. A donor-advised fund lets you give now and decide later which organizations receive the money.
Balanced With Your Family’s Needs
We help you decide how much to give, when and how, so your generosity fits into a plan that still protects the people who depend on you.
Whether you’re planning ahead or facing a decision right now, we can help with charitable planning. Schedule a confidential consultation or call/text (281) 407-5622.
